Disqualify all seven defecting MPs, AAP says in petition to RS Chairman

ஆம் ஆத்மி கட்சி (AAP), கட்சியை விட்டு வெளியேறி பாரதிய ஜனதா கட்சியில் (BJP) இணைந்த ஏழு நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர்களை தகுதி நீக்கம் செய்ய வேண்டும் என ராஜ்யசபா தலைவர் சி.பி. ராதாகிருஷ்ணனுக்கு மனு அளித்துள்ளது.

ராகவ் சதா தலைமையிலான இந்த ஏழு எம்.பிக்களின் நடவடிக்கை, கட்சித் தாவல் எதிர்ப்பு சட்டத்தின் விதிகளுக்கு முரணானது என கட்சி தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

அவர்கள் ஆம் ஆத்மி கட்சியின் சார்பில் ராஜ்யசபாவுக்கு தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டிருந்தும், பின்னர் கட்சியை விட்டு வெளியேறி பாஜகவில் இணைந்ததால், இந்திய அரசியலமைப்பின் 10வது அட்டவணையின் கீழ் அவர்களின் உறுப்பினர் பதவியை ரத்து செய்ய வேண்டும் என்று AAP வலியுறுத்தியுள்ளது.

தற்போது ராஜ்யசபாவில் AAPக்கு 10 உறுப்பினர்கள் உள்ளனர். ஆனால், கட்சியை விட்டு வெளியேறிய குழு, தகுதி நீக்கத்திலிருந்து தப்பிக்க தேவையான மூன்றில் இரண்டு பங்கு ஆதரவு தங்களிடம் உள்ளது எனக் கூறுகிறது.

குறிப்பாக, கட்சியை விட்டு வெளியேறிய அந்த ஏழு எம்.பிக்களில் ஆறு பேர் பஞ்சாபைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள்.

The Aam Aadmi Party submitted a petition to Rajya Sabha Chairman C.P. Radhakrishnan seeking the disqualification of seven MPs who have quit the party and merged with the Bharatiya Janata Party.
it said the move by the Raghav Chadha-led group (7 MPs) was against the provisions of the anti-defection law.
The party urged the Chairman to terminate their membership, underlining that they were elected to the Upper House on AAP ticket but decided to leave the party and join the BJP. 
The AAP has 10 members in the Upper House. The defecting group argues it has the required two-thirds strength to avoid disqualification.
Petition to the Chairman requesting that the membership of these members be terminated as per the 10th Schedule of the Constitution.
Six of the seven MPs who quit the party were from Punjab.
